These arbors are made from Asian bittersweet. This was first introduced to NA in the late 1800’s and unforutnately an invasive species. It has naturalized to a variety of habitats but seems partial to the trees in the forest where the ground is carpeted in poision ivy. :) A day in the life…
Landscapes are a challenge to photograph in the first year as we tend to plan and install not just for the immediate beauty, but also understanding the maturity of plant material and what the area will look like in 3, 5, or 8 years. More isn’t better. More challenges the eye and creates disharmony in a landscape.
